Canon SD love, birding.

great egret merritt island nwr mushrooms roseate spoonbill

My new camera arrived, the Canon SD1000 to replace my old Canon SD110 which had decided that all pictures should be purple. Well, the SD has certainly improved in the last two years- it's smaller and the pictures are larger and sharper. I am so pleased!

To try it out, I took a walk in the afternoon and photographed some mushrooms.

The next morning I went to the birding trail in Merritt Island. Unfortunately I forgot my binoculars, and I was pressed for time, but I love the trail and would be happy with any time spent there. It's a drive through a beautiful marshy terrain. This time I saw egrets, herons, ibises, the pink roseate spoonbills, sandpipers, eagles, many many many ducks, avocets, kingfishers, and so on. There are just so many birds EVERYWHERE, it is so cool.
