I made some thank you cards, to send out some thanks for Christmas gifts. (shhh, it's never too late for that!)
I had been toying with the idea of trying flocking or embossing on cards, so I ended up with flocking because all I needed to buy for that was a jar of flocking (3.99 and 50% off with a coupon). I went with pale pink ("peony") thinking it would be good for some Valentine's Day cards as well.
I picked out a bird I had drawn, put a little heart on it's chest and decided to flock that. I printed out a ton of cards with the design, using these cute cards with scalloped edges, also from Martha Stewart's line at Michaels last year. 1) Apple glue where you want the flocking to go. I used the Elmer's wrinkle free glue, I like to keep this around because it smells good and really is wrinkle free on paper (I love using it for collage).
2) Apply flocking! Just dump a bunch on there.
3) Shake flocking off and put leftovers back in jar. That's it! So easy and so cute!!
The cards are up for sale in my etsy shop. I found a set of Stampendous brand flocking in the Christmas clearance at Michaels, so now I have green, red, blue, black, and white. I'm trying to think of what I can flock next!
