New painting of a bird and girly. Not a scientific bird! The mint/blue and coral/red color combination has been popular for a while, I thought I might actually be behind on the times with this painting but then I looked at my pinterest feed... yep, still good!
I am getting behind on my Daily Animal Doodles! But the good news is that tomorrow is my last day working full time as a manager, so hopefully that will mean a lot more art soon! Less stress, and a nice schedule of working mornings only. I can't remember the last time I've been able to have a daily routine. So I'm excited! In the meantime, here is a painting I did a few months ago and never posted.
I spent a few days camping last week at Gold Head State Park in Keystone Heights, FL. Here are some photos! Taken during a foggy sunrise: Mushrooms found on walks in the woods (not very many but the indian pipes are AWESOME, I never see them):
New piece, "Mushroom Ring"... yes, I admit I didn't even try to think up a more creative name for it. Girl and mushrooms are painted with watercolors, the background is something different though. I used pastels, to be specific Prismacolor Nupastels, which are awesome. (I recently used these in the seagull piece as well.) I used to use them aaaall the time but I haven't really in the last five years. Lately I've been interested in playing with some new art supplies. I have some that I've never even tried!
You can download this painting free as a pdf to print out and frame. It's part of the Indie Fixx Feed Your Soul project. There is a lot of beautiful artwork there to print, definitely worth a look. I love Indie Fixx!
