Moths.
I recently finished another field guide painting, this one of moths, matching to the butterflies I did previously. Burrowing Animals.
My latest field guide is a little bit different, Burrowing Animals. They are so cute! Prints have been made and will be up in the shop soon.
Bird Nest No. 35, Ruby-throated Hummingbird.
Another bird nest painting, I wanted to do a hummingbird with chicks in the nest. This is the Ruby-throated Hummingbird, the female of which does not have the ruby throat. Last Summer when I was visiting my parents these hummingbirds were quite active at the feeder. I was just dying to see a nest, I probably spent hours staring at tree branches trying to locate one and closely watching the birds but to no avail. In this nest I used crochet flowers and bits of lace, in addition to "microbeads" which ad a lovely sparkle in person but unfortunately not...
