Happy Valentine's Day! Here are some little love birds snuggling up, golden crowned kinglets. This is Birds Nest painting No. 16. This morning I made a big breakfast for my boyfriend to wake up to. I'm so full! We had Morningstar Farms sausage patties on toast, and orange-chocolate pancakes with banana and blueberries.

Seagull and a white crowned sparrow.

That is my seagull friend that I painted after going to the beach. I used pastels for the background and both acrylics and watercolor for the bird, then put in the seaweed and shells. Here is my current work in progress. Bird nest with a white crowned sparrow. I'd be working on it right now but I am waiting for the first bit of glue to dry!

What could be in this adorable Hello Kitty case? This is where I keep all the little trinkets I collect for my bird nest paintings. First, we have natural things like dried flowers and acorns I've collected on walks. Then, we have colored thread, beads, buttons, charms, and clock parts. Some things I have in here have yet to incorporated into any bird nest, such as sequins, rhinestones, and small shells. In the bottom of the case is a mess of embroidery floss, little bits of yarn and ribbon, lace, fake flowers and leaves, fabric, papers. I have some bits...

New bird nest paintings... In progress: The leaves and flowers are from a vintage scarf that I used to love but now has many rips and tears and is finding a new purpose. Finished: And another finished birdie, watercolor with dried flowers, sticks, and vines collected outside: I still need to get these properly photographed for prints, but it might be a couple months.
