The Little Nuthatch

New painting! It's a Sea Creatures chart. It's not specific like my birds paintings, it features "general" sea creatures... Whale, Shark, Dolphin, Octopus, Eel, Seahorse, Jellyfish, Stingray, and Turtle.   Prints are 13x19 and available in the shop. I would love to do some more specific charts of sea creatures but they're so mysterious living under the sea, and there is much still unknown... making it a lot more difficult to study and paint charts!

I recently explored the Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge for the first time. The trails are mostly wetlands, with one trail through pine flatwoods leading up to the St. Johns river. Very beautiful place! I visited it on a cool, slightly overcast day which was perfect for a place that could potentially be very hot and sunny.   There were TONS of birds there. I was very excited to see my first Virginia Rail among them. (Of course it quickly ducked into the reeds so I couldn't get a photo.)

Happy February! I haven't posted in a month, had a nice relaxing break throughout January and now I'm ready to get back to business! To start with I have a bunch of new Valentine's Day cards available in the shop.
