The Little Nuthatch
The Little Free Library.
I was invited to paint a Little Free Library that will be installed outside Dandelion Communitea in Orlando. An awesome project at an awesome place- so of course I was thrilled to be a part of it! The first challenge was working with acrylics. I work in watercolor on paper, and acrylics on an upright wooden object... a lot different! Luckily with acrylics you can paint over mistakes, so I think it turned out well in the end! North Carolina: The Mountain Nest.
There is a lovely gallery and shop in Black Mountain, North Carolina called The Mountain Nest. It is full of gorgeous hand crafted arts and crafts, with a focus on birds! How perfect. I am so impressed by it. You can find my prints, cards, pins, and magnets there. On this trip I brought them some original bird nests. Here I am with one of my pieces... And my favorite things from the shop... I want these bird houses and carved bird ornaments! So cute!
Field Guide Paintings: Butterflies.
I have had many requests for this field guide painting... butterflies! Featuring Buckeye, Mourning Cloak, Viceroy, Monarch, Red Admiral, Queen, Question Mark, Great Swallowtail, and Great Spangled Fritillary. I already made prints and put them up in the shop.

North Carolina: Frosty morning.
Living in Florida, it is rare to have a frosty morning. So every morning in North Carolina I was in love with the sparkling frost.
