The Little Nuthatch — cats
Work in progress: sandpipers & plovers.
My current work in progress is another bird chart, this one of sandpipers, plovers, and similar shorebirds. This one has been in progress for a while, and taking a long time! Maybe this is why... Or maybe it's because of the ridiculously tiny brushes I use. The ones I keep picking up are 3/0 rounds.
My kitty.
My kitty Scout turned 2 today. Aw, she's growing up... Happy Birthday Scout! ♥
BEES!
There is a bee colony in the walls! First, we saw a few bees in the house so we went outside and looked around. We found them on the wall outside getting in through the gutter. One morning I woke up to hear them buzzing so loudly I could not sleep. That was when I started putting my ear up against the wall and they were EVERYWHERE IN THERE! You could actually feel the wall vibrating. That same day they started getting inside the house in record numbers. Through outlets, window frames, who knows... even after I taped everything off...
A cat.
We have a cat hanging around here. He showed up last week digging in our trash so we gave him real food and have been feeding him since. He is so very friendly, he comes running up, and he'll jump on your lap and lay down and purr. We're calling him Augustus. He was definitely someone's cat because he is fixed, but he doesn't have a collar- I don't know if he is lost or abandoned. Tell you what, he won't sit still for a photo...
Cats, backyard, not much.
One of my new roomies has seven cats. We were rather nervous about there being so many, but they are all very sweet and also energetic and fun to play with. Then when they get tired from playing they sleep together so lovingly!! I love them! Glimpses of my new backyard... Unfortunately at this time it's too hot, sticky, and buggy to properly explore. But I can tell it's going to be fun in the fall!
