The Little Nuthatch — field guide paintings
Sandpipers, plovers, and other such shorebirds.
I finished this piece a while back, but never got around to posting it. This is another in my series of the Merritt Island birds list. Sandpipers, plovers, etc...
North Carolina mountain migratory birds.
Last year for Christmas I gave my parents a painting of the permanent resident birds of the North Carolina mountains. This year, I painted the warblers and other small birds that migrate through their area. Now that Christmas is over I can post it up! Here is a closer look at a few of them: Most of these birds will visit the mountains in Summer, while I am used to seeing them in Florida during the Winter!
Work in progress: hummingbirds.
I sketched out the hummingbirds and laid them out, tomorrow I will transfer them to watercolor paper and start painting soon!
Carnivorous plants.
I did a painting of some carnivorous plants. They are pretty fascinating plants. It available in the shop- Carnivorous Plants Field Guide Art Print.
Work in progress: sandpipers & plovers.
My current work in progress is another bird chart, this one of sandpipers, plovers, and similar shorebirds. This one has been in progress for a while, and taking a long time! Maybe this is why... Or maybe it's because of the ridiculously tiny brushes I use. The ones I keep picking up are 3/0 rounds.
