The Little Nuthatch — flowers
Spring is coming!
Everywhere I go, I see spring on it's way! These photos are from Lake Mills Park, and a couple taken out at my parents home.
From today's hike at Econ Wilderness Area.
Wild blackberries.

Yesterday afternoon I went picking wild blackberries and blueberries. The blackberries are plentiful all along the road sides and hiking trails around here. The wild blueberries are harder to find, they are small bushes low to the ground, smaller than the blueberries available at the store, but just as delicious. It's really a great feeling to go get food right from the wild. Here is what I picked: And some photos from the trail... Saw many tortoise on the trail. This one eating grass... so adorable. Passion fruit flower... I wonder when passion fruits are in season? It is certainly...
The explorations of Tosohatchee.

Tosohatchee State Reserve has an amazing network of trails on 28000 acres. This week my friend Marissa and I went to explore there once again. This time we saw wild turkeys, armadillos, families of cows right on the trail, turtles, alligators, and maaaaaany birds. Spring is in full swing and there are wildflowers EVERYWHERE. Like, SO MANY TYPES that I have not seen ANYWHERE ELSE! I love this place!! (I hardly have any photos considering all the awesome things I saw.) See the alligator? That one is a baby but I saw a huuuge one too. Twig caterpillar: Can't wait...
Cats, backyard, not much.
One of my new roomies has seven cats. We were rather nervous about there being so many, but they are all very sweet and also energetic and fun to play with. Then when they get tired from playing they sleep together so lovingly!! I love them! Glimpses of my new backyard... Unfortunately at this time it's too hot, sticky, and buggy to properly explore. But I can tell it's going to be fun in the fall!
