Leo and Diane Dillon are an artists couple I have admired since childhood when I read Wise Child based solely on the gorgeous cover they had illustrated (note: loved the book!), from there I started to notice their illustrations elsewhere and began seeking them out. They are awesome artists, creating fabulous multicultural picture books with the most amazing textile designs! The Race of the Golden Apples: Wind Child: Their son is also a talented sculptor with work in Wind Child and some of their other books.

Inspirational Artists: Hilary Knight

Hilary Knight is famous as the illustrator of Eloise. Eloise is of course fabulous, but I am more inspired by his fairy tale art such as  Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, and The Owl and The Pussycat. I find the art in these picture books to be particularly stunning, especially Beauty and Beast with it's art nouveau style.
