The Little Nuthatch
Beach.
Beach day with my family! My Mom got a motel room for the night so we could enjoy playing on the beach in the afternoon, a late night walk in the dark, and the sunrise in the morning. The best beach moments! In the afternoon my sister Ivy and I made an awesome sand castle! First, it's the traditional sand castle using pails and such, with a nice mote around it. Then we drip wet sand all over it and build little towers with the drips. I get really really into this... it's hard to stop! Here is a photo...
papernstitch.
This month I am participating in the exhibition at papernstitch. I am so pleased to be a part of it, as this website is very reliable for having a beautiful selection of products! I just found a couple of things on there that I seriously need!! (well, want!!!) A Reindeer Necklace Mossy Twig Hair Pins
Alice stationery.
I finished some new stationery which features Alice in Wonderland. Just posted to the shop on etsy... Who doesn't love Alice? When I was younger some of my favorite books were Alice's Adventures Under Ground: A Facsimile of the Original Manuscript (handwritten, so charming!) and The Other Alice: The Story of Alice Liddell and Alice in Wonderland (from the author of Linnea... loved those books too).
Embossing.
I tried out embossing several weeks ago and I finally got around to taking photos of the results! With this type of embossing you: 1) use a rubber stamp and make a stamp with a watermark ink pad 2) sprinkle the watermark stamp with embossing powder and blow off any extra powder 3) set the embossing powder with a heat gun This is the result: It creates nice, raised, dimensional lines. I used the rubber stamps I carved and posted about a while back. One of my favorite parts with embossing is the little powder particles that get left behind...
Tosohatchee.
I had never been to Tosohatchee State Reserve before, so yesterday my friend Marissa and I checked it out. This place is on 28000 acres. It is VAST. We did a trail at parking spot "29"... yes, there are at least 28 more parking spots...meaning... 28 more trails!! My goodness! I really can't wait to explore more. We saw a few armadillo, and a lot of birds, including a Bald Eagle.
