Every winter I go birdwatching at Black Point Drive, on Merritt Island. It is a beautiful trail that you drive and has many places to walk around. Today was cold and VERY windy so we didn't get out of the car much. The water was high and choppy and the birds were sometimes having trouble flying in all that wind. There were not a many birds as usual, although still plenty, and we also saw an alligator and an otter that walked right across the road! It was lovely, I am never disappointed when I go there, and always inspired!...

Happy Valentine's Day! Here are some little love birds snuggling up, golden crowned kinglets. This is Birds Nest painting No. 16. This morning I made a big breakfast for my boyfriend to wake up to. I'm so full! We had Morningstar Farms sausage patties on toast, and orange-chocolate pancakes with banana and blueberries.

Paper bowl.

I was organizing this week and needed a place to put my balls of yarn- forget the skeins yarn come in, I love a ball of yarn so I always redo mine into a ball. They look so pretty in a basket or bowl! The problem is mine were in an ugly plastic container in the closet. So when I saw the instructions for a shredded paper bowl in the BH&G Do It Yourself Magazine (Winter 2009) I thought, perfect! Rubber stamp carving.

Back in November I carved my first rubber stamp, so I had my own to use when letterboxing. It was so easy, that I made a few more! First off, I'm afraid my stamps might look a bit rough. I've been using an xacto knife with just a *slightly* diagonal blade (not the very pointy ones that might be better for detail) that is also old and actually rusty!! (I should definitely buy new blades...) But, anyway, the point is I'm not using the blades that are actually meant for stamp carving. So, here are the two I carved this...
