The Little Nuthatch
New bird nests.
New bird nest paintings... In progress: The leaves and flowers are from a vintage scarf that I used to love but now has many rips and tears and is finding a new purpose. Finished: And another finished birdie, watercolor with dried flowers, sticks, and vines collected outside: I still need to get these properly photographed for prints, but it might be a couple months.
Florida weather.
Bugs, humidity, thunderstorms. These are the things keeping me inside. I try going out, but then I spend the rest of the day itching mosquito and no-see-um bites. Not cool!!
The best magnets ever.
I bought magnets on etsy from NuitBlanche. (UPDATE: Believe this artist was Caroline Gaedechens.) They are basically the best magnets ever. UNICORN! Also, they glow in the dark.
Bird Nests and Ivory Billed Woodpecker paintings.

I just updated the shop with prints of all my bird nests paintings, and two originals. The update includes prints of these three new pieces: And this new one: That one is titled "Lord God Bird" after the Ivory Billed Woodpecker. I had been wanting to paint one for a while, as I've been following the story on this awesome website about it. I hope they find them! I'm not sure I did the bird justice, as there are quite a lack of photos.
Happy Spring!
Today started with gray skies and a light rain, but by noon it was bright and sunny, yet still fairly cool and breezy. It's a beautiful day and the air smells sweet! It must be the perfect first day of Spring. On my walk I saw a bald eagle and spent some time following it around until it flew to the woods across the street. It's been a couple of years since I saw one here, and they are really such magnificent birds.
