The Little Nuthatch
Great Gray Owl painting.
This is a commission I did of a Great Gray Owl. This was to be a Christmas gift so I waited a while to post it. I sure hope it was loved! Â
A constant birder.
One thing I love about birds is that they no know boundaries. You can bird watch anywhere. Â Â I saw those guys while dropping my recycling off at the City Hall! Â Â And that Palm Warbler there was on the fence behind work. Keep your eyes open and yours ears listening!
Local Barred Owls.
My owl friends at a local park... Â I saw three on this day. The pair had two owlets last Spring, I can't wait to see what this Spring holds for these dears, and hopes of my seeing new baby owlets.
Backyard Birds of the United States.
I have taken on a project. Backyard Bird Guides for each state featuring their top 25 birds. Thanks to the wonderful resource of Cornell's Project FeederWatch I compiled the lists of birds by going through the past 5 years of FeederWatch records. I hope they are accurate and satisfactory! I am using my existing Florida and North Carolina guides as starting points and compiling the guides, painting new birds as needed. I will work my way from East Coast to West, as more and more birds will need to be painted as I move into unknown territory! And Hawaii will...
Inspirational Artists I grew up on... Diane Stanley.
Time for another inspirational artist, from my collection childhood picture books! Diane Stanley illustrated Petrosinella, a story which is essentially Rapunzel. I always loved the art in this book. As a side note, according to her website she likes hiking and her husband is a birder! Â
