It hardly seems like time for nesting season quite yet, but the larger birds start early. I took this photo of an active Eagle nest back on January 9th: Spot the nest high up in the middle of the tree? They're giant! These was a Bald Eagle in the nest that was up to something. Feeding chicks? I couldn't tell, but I wish them well!
Red-Shouldered Hawk.
Red-Shouldered Hawks. They love to pose and make a big fuss so you can hear them from a mile away. They're also beautiful. It's no wonder I find myself with a million photos of them!

Oak Hammock.
I recently did a trail at Merritt Island NWR that runs through an old Oak Hammock. I'm sorry it took me so long to do this trail. I will be back sooner than later. It was a gorgeous trail of towering old oaks covered in all types of epiphytes.
