The Little Nuthatch — barred owl
Birds here and there.
anhinga bald eagle barred owl palm warbler
And here, I present... a random assortment of photos from birding last month. This warbler above, not sure on the ID- juvenile Palm Warbler, maybe? Very beautiful with that little bit of color! And this one above, pardon the bad photo, but I was thrilled to get a look at a RAIL! Pretty rare find for me. Question is, what Rail? Clapper Rail? That one was taken at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge.
Local Barred Owls.
My owl friends at a local park... I saw three on this day. The pair had two owlets last Spring, I can't wait to see what this Spring holds for these dears, and hopes of my seeing new baby owlets.

I've been outside a lot this month, but mostly camera-free... sometimes I really like to enjoy the outside with no cameras or distractions. By the time they got to the Limpkin it had untangled itself but it still has a fish hook stuck in...
Barred Owls.
Only a week in to Spring and here we have more babies! I was pretty psyched about finding two young Barred Owl unexpectedly. This was the first one I saw, waaaay up there in a tall tree... I was especially surprised to find the second one, in another tree, too hidden by leaves and shadows to bother with a photo. But so cute to view with binoculars! Then, I figured with two babies about, the parents could not be far off. I looked for a long time and eventually found one on the outskirts of the park. Majestic!
Summer is here!

Happy first day of Summer! What a great Spring it was. I hope that Summer will be great too. I've been having so much fun outside, but I dread the upcoming heat and mosquitoes. I have held strong in spending 30 minutes outside every day this month. Here are a few photos from this last week and a half. Pileated Woodpecker's Tri-colored Heron This gorgeous Barred Owl made my day, and see the little Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher next to it in this photo? That little bird was making a huge fuss when the Owl landed on that tree, but...
