After my craft show in Sarasota, I stopped by Myakka River State Park on my way home. What an awesome place! They have built a walkway through a canopy and a tower that goes above the canopy and overlooks the entire park with a 360 view. The place is filled with beautiful air plants and lichen painting the trees. This park must have the best air! Sights seen included many birds, alligators, a few deer, and a large turtle crossing the street. I strongly suggest a visit to this park.  

Hello old blog! My last post was Thanksgiving and yesterday was Christmas Day! I've been gone a while, busy with holiday orders and craft shows, in addition to making some little Christmas gifts and enjoying the season. One lovely weekend I had a craft show in Sarasota on the gulf coast of Florida and got to spend some time enjoying Lido Beach. These are from a morning walk at sunrise... And over the bay at sunset...

I did this painting a while back, totally just having fun painting, playing with colors and making up my own bird (reminds me a little of a Resplendent Quetzal). Sometimes you just need to take a break and play, no worrying about references, accuracy, or usefulness!
