It hardly seems like time for nesting season quite yet, but the larger birds start early. I took this photo of an active Eagle nest back on January 9th:     Spot the nest high up in the middle of the tree? They're giant!     These was a Bald Eagle in the nest that was up to something. Feeding chicks? I couldn't tell, but I wish them well!

Lake Harney Wilderness Area.

Here is a little peek at Lake Harney Wilderness Area. It is a short hike. The start of the trail is down a sandy road, not to be done on a hot day! Luckily today was very nice. I mean, it is only the first of February! The River Loop has beautiful sprawling oaks and a crazy amount of spanish moss. Then there are a few good spots to view the river. Went down to check out the large Lake Harney the other day. Just the right moment too, as a immediately this colony of ibis came flying in... So beautiful to watch a flock of birds weaving about the sky.
