Red-cheeked Cordon Bleu.

Okay, here is another new nest. This is the Red-cheeked Cordon Bleu. I saw it in the 'Birds of the World' book I got for my birthday, it is a bird native to Africa and I found it very striking. What cute rosy cheeks! For the leaves and nest I cut a bunch of fabric scraps that I had stained with coffee.

Bird Nest No. 22.

Here is a new bird nest painting, it is a Bushtit. A Bushtit's nest is typically made of moss, grass, twigs, lichens, small leaves, spider cocoons, and blossoms of trees. It seems this one has located an old book... well, the nests never were very accurate! But believe it or not, I actually look up what all of these birds nests are actually supposed to look like, that way I can at least get a *hint* of accuracy.

Ducks and Geese.

Here is the latest in my bird watching painting series. This is part one of the ducks and geese. Part two will be done much later, I am through with ducks for a while. This one took me a long time, I want the birds to be accurate, but it was a bit of a struggle. Ducks are so hard to draw!!
