The Little Nuthatch
Magic Under Glass.
Yesterday my sister's first book came out! Magic Under Glass by Jaclyn Dolamore I love this book, and I am so happy it is published and now everyone can enjoy it! Please check it out!! It is a wonderful book in the young adult fantasy genre- placed in a victorian setting, with fairies, a clockwork automaton, romance and adventure. I love it, and I'm not just saying that because Jackie is my sister. (check out the awesome reviews!)
Ornament Swap 2009.
I took part in the Freshly Blended Ornament Swap this year (I did it last year too). I highly reccomend it! I made most of my ornaments on a camping trip a few weeks ago. They are like mini versions of my nest paintings. For each one I used a print out of a cardinal painting I did, glued it into a little box, and decorated each one with buttons, beads, and threads. So far I have only gotten a couple ornaments in the exchange, but I will get 10 total. Look how cool these are: On the left is...

Inside the letterbox is a book with a stamp, so you stamp your book with their stamp and stamp their book with your stamp. If you're out exploring nature anyway you might as well do a letterbox hunt while you're at it. I decided to make my own hand carved stamp to...
I love autumn!
gold head branch state park people paintings
I spent a few days camping last week at Gold Head State Park in Keystone Heights, FL. Here are some photos! Taken during a foggy sunrise: Mushrooms found on walks in the woods (not very many but the indian pipes are AWESOME, I never see them):
November?
It still doesn't feel like fall here. I hope it comes soon. We need cool and dry weather!! I can't believe Halloween is over. I did absolutely nothing this year, with the hot and sticky weather it just didn't feel right. If I had a done a costume, I was thinking something simple- a bonnet and small capelet made made of felt and felt feathers to be an owl. Maybe next year!
