The Little Nuthatch

The painting I am working on right now is another field guide chart- penguins! The chart has 17 penguins, and it's so very black and white with just a little pink and yellow. Those penguins are pretty classy. Here is a sneak peek sketch of Emperor and Little Penguin...

I'm not sure everyone would agree, but when I see a lizard eating a moth I think it's kind of neat just to catch a moment like that...

I love thinking about what's under the sea, there's so much that's still to be discovered. I like that it's unknown and I feel like I don't have to be accurate, so I can just go crazy with painting colorful coral and such! This time I painted a shark, but typical of my art it ended up being the happiest most non threatening shark ever.

I have been too busy working for many outdoor adventures, but I did get to spare a couple hours to visit a local park. What wonders! I am crazy about this little mushroom... And many other things... The last one is a very camouflaged insect on a tree trunk. One must look closely in the woods, you never know what you will find.

My favorite thing about doing craft shows is hearing feedback from people and finding out what they are really looking for and would like to see. I write down every suggestion! One request I've had a lot of is for the female Northern Cardinal. People seem to think she is under appreciated and just as beautiful as the male- and I have to agree!
