Hawaiian Birds: Akohekohe.
My friend just returned from a trip to Hawaii and brought me back a field guide to Hawaiian birds. They have some beautiful birds that don't live anywhere else. One is the Akohekohe that only lives on Maui. It also known as a Crested Honeycreeper. I will be painting and posting more Hawaiian birds as I continue to study the field guide!
After the rain.

Everything was looking beautiful after a thunderstorm this afternoon. I'm sure all the mushrooms didn't just pop out of the ground right after the rain, but it looked like they did!
That early fall feeling.
I have that early fall feeling. That feeling that things are about to get GOOD. Cool breezes, hikes, birds, bike rides... It's not quite here yet, but on an evening walk this week I could feel that it was coming.
As of 10:49am- it is Fall.
