Chia pudding.
Check out my Chia Pudding recipe/painting on They Draw & Cook-- I always wanted to paint a recipe for They Draw & Cook but I wanted the recipe to be one of my favorite things to eat and also something that wasn't on there yet which made it difficult. Then a few months ago I discovered chia pudding and I was hooked. I've made it every week since! It's sort of like tapioca pudding but healthy and easy to make. You can easily flavor it to have it a variety of ways. This week I tried it with PB2 (powdered...
Field guide painting: Birds of Eastern North Carolina.
Last month I did this painting of the birds of Eastern North Carolina. This was a commission, and such a fun project. I'd love to do more specialized field guide paintings for areas all over the world! While most of the birds in my paintings are the colorful male birds, it was requested that I include the female cardinal in this one. I was happy to oblige, they are such beautiful birds! I will have prints of this in my shop shortly.

Made it out to Viera Wetlands for the sunrise a couple weeks ago. Good day. There were loads of herons and egrets, some shorebirds, and the first Kingfisher I'd seen in a while. And, Common Gallinule babies! So many there of all ages. I love them, they are such ugly-cute babies.

And different. The colors of the mountain rocks came out in the drizzling rain. It felt like a day for soup and hot cocoa, a nice feeling to have for a Florida girl in July. The fog and rain also meant no birds. I just found a few Junco's and this one little Chestnut-Sided Warbler. And these are a few from the yard during sunset, having...
Ducklings.
While I was in North Carolina I saw some ducks. And then! A bit after the parents came out they were followed by many adorable ducklings!
