The Little Nuthatch

A warm and sunny afternoon at MINWR.

The birds out at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge seem to have doubled since I was last out there! There are Pintails, Mergansers, Shovelers, and many more. The Horned Grebe is the star, it is so cute!! They were pretty far out so I didn't get a photo, but I enjoyed watching them all with my binoculars. It was about 80 degrees out there yesterday in the late afternoon, warm and sunny. I checked Black Point Drive, Bio-Lab, and Playalinda. Lots of seaweed on the beach. Here are a few photos:

A perfect Sunday for the Grandma Party Bazaar.

This past Sunday was Grandma Party Bazaar in Orlando. The weather was PERFECT, cool and sunny! It was a great day to be out and I think everybody was feeling it.  I had an awesome time hanging out there! I snapped a few photos on the instagram. North Carolina, the final segment.

More on North Carolina... It rained for a few days and eventually turned to snow. That was the first time I had ever seen snow falling and how exciting! It started to snow in the night and in the morning I was so excited to see it was clear and sunny and there were patches of snow and lots of frost to go out and enjoy! We walked down to the river, where there is an abundance of one of my favorite things... moss and lichens.     I am used to photos like the one above with water droplets,...

North Carolina birds.

So many birds at the bird feeder up in North Carolina! Tufted Titmouse: Goldfinch: White Breasted Nuthatch:   Dark-eyed Junco:   House Finch: jumping! Downy Woodpecker:   Red-bellied Woodpecker:   I also saw Brown-headed Nuthatch, Brown Creeper, Cardinal, Blue Jay, Pileated Woodpecker, Dove, Carolina Wren, and of course Carolina Chickadee. A Bluebird showed up a few hours after I headed back home! Maybe next time... It's so much to see what will be there every morning.
