A couple weeks ago I spent a lovely weekend at a cabin at Gold Head Branch State Park in Keystone Heights, FL. It was the perfect weekend- in the 60s during the day, 30s at night, and sunny. My favorite part about staying in a cabin or camping is waking up at dawn when the birds are just starting to sing and going for a walk. Absolute peace, quiet, and beauty. Hoodies and more!

I recently found some Hooded Mergansers hanging out in the retention pond behind my work. I went around to take some photos and found a pair of regular ol ducks (Mallard/Mottled hybrid maybe?), some Cormorants, and an Eastern Phoebe too. Nice spot to take a look at some cool birds. The Hooded Mergansers are awesome!

The last bit for North Carolina.

On my last day in the North Carolina, the peach tree started to blossom. Spring looks like it's going to be beautiful there! I wish I was going to be there to see it. Not to be too sad though, instead I will be enjoying the beach and the birds back home in Florida. Yep, there's beauty everywhere! That is an Eastern Phoebe I caught down by the river. Not too many birds down there, but there were some ducks on the river bank. I was trying to inch closer and they left in a rush as soon as they...
